Matcha Green Tea Lattes

Matcha is my latest craze in the kitchen. I do love finding new super foods and for me, this antioxidant-rick powder works beautifully in smoothies, desserts and also hot drinks. I cant drink coffee but I can handle tea and this latte gives you a good energy kick to start your day! You can try using your favourite plant-based milk, Ive used almond here which is creamy and delicious. Matcha powder can be found in most health food stores now or I use Matcha Maiden which you can buy online too.



  • ½- 1 teaspoon of organic matcha powder
  • 1-2 teaspoons of boiling water
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut nectar

Place the matcha powder in the bottom of your mug and cover with boiling water. Allow this to seep while you steam your milk. I use about ½ a teaspoon per serve but if you love green tea, you can use up to a teaspoon.

Steam your milk on a coffee machine or on a stove top, its best if it can be creamy and frothy.

Pour the milk over the matcha in your mug and sweeten to taste.

This is a delicious drink both hot and cold.
