Homemade Granola Bars

Ive always been a granola lover and my idea of something sweet is the perfect granola bar. I love this recipe because its so versatile. You can use your favourite nuts and seeds and dried fruit. Ive added cacao before to make it a little chocolately, I’ve added almond butter and dried banana, Ive used orange rind and cranberries or grated apple, ginger and cinnamon. Its a great snack to have on hand, is quick to make and appeals to kids and adults alike!


  • 3 cups of oats
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of cardamom
  • ½ cup of coconut sugar
  • 1 apple grated
  • 2 tablespoons of  tahini or almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons of flax meal
  • ¼ cup sunflower seeds
  • ¼ cup dried apricots diced
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1 cup of almond or oat milk
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil melted
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence


Mix all of the ingredient well in a large bowl so that everything is thoroughly combined.

Bake in an oven on 200 degrees Celsius for 10-15 mins.

Keep in an airtight container.
